We are Harish and Pooja from New Delhi. I am a Manglorean and Pooja is a Punjabi , we met , fell in love and got married in 2006. I'm currently working as an Account Manager in a BPO and Pooja is working as a process trainer in a BPO. Although people have various ways of unwinding but we prefer to unwind by travelling whenever we get a chance. We've done almost 90% of our travels across India by road in our own cars ( have uploaded lots of pictures on flickr ) and we prefer to visit places in India than abroad as we believe that India has lots of unexplored places and when you travel by road you get lot of opportunities to meet new people and see new places which you otherwise miss while travelling by public transport. We fight a lot to take the drivers seat on all our trips and the winner depends on the situation :)..well honestly most of the times its me.

We are the best candidates because...

We are the best candidates for this challenge because we have travelled extensively on our own car by road from Jammu till Karnataka and have visited lot of new places too. Most of our endeavours were decided at the 11th hour and also we do not take much time in convincing our parents , getting the car ready , arranging the funds , packing our bags and pushing off. People around us think that it's little risky for just the 2 of us to drive for such long distances and that too with very little sleep however this is what we really like to do. To sum it up "We live to Drive".

Our Travel Plan

After extensively travelling across India by road the following stretch has still not been covered by us , we have been eagerly looking forward for this trip as its going to be our dream trip and a great challenge too. This trip would test the Man and the Machine both and also a chance to click some excellent photographs and be close to nature. Following is the plan which can also be squeezed into 10 days. Day1:: (Delhi – Manali) Day2: (Manali – Keylong) Day3: (Keylong - Sarchu) Day4: (Sarchu - Leh) Day5: Leh Day6: Leh – Diskit Day7: Nubra Valley Day8: Diskit – Leh Day9: Leh – Tanksey Day10: Tangste–Pangong Tso-Tanksey Day11: Tangste – Leh Day12: 2005 Leh Day13: Leh – Kargil Day14: Kargil- Srinagar Day15 : Srinagar-New Delhi

Our Travelogue

We have travelled extensively in India and following are details of few of our trips 1) Delhi - Jaipur - Udaipur - Ahmedabad - Mumbai ( Lonavla and Khandala ) - Goa - Karnataka ( Belgaum ) - Mumbai - Indore - Gwalior - Agra -Delhi - This was by road on our Spark - Total 11 days and 5000 kms ---This was a trip that we had planned for a while and finally managed to do it..the pictures for the same can be seen on flickr. 2) Delhi - Manali - Rohtang Pass - Kasaul - Manikaran - Delhi - This was by Road on Alto 60 hours and approx 1500 Kms 3) Delhi - Rishikesh - Delhi - For White water rafting on Alto , Spark and Maruti 800 ( around 10 times ). Total of approximately 550 kms for the return journey. 4) Delhi - Goa -Delhi -( 5 times )-Once by road on Spark and 4 times by Air. 5) Delhi - Dehradun - Mussorie - Delhi - Spark and Alto ( 4 times) 6) Delhi - Bangalore - Delhi Once by Air 7) Delhi - Mangalore-Udupi - Manipal - Delhi - Once by Air , train , taxi , Bus. 8) Delhi - Jaipur - Delhi - ( 5times ) on Alto and Maruti 800 9) Delhi - Sariska - Bhangarh - Jaipur - Ajmer - Pushkar - jodhpur - Delhi Once by Altto 1750 Kms in 2.5 days with friends
