Our Travelogue

Trip to Badrinath We went to in 2005. It's an unforgettable journey we took. We started from Delhi in mid of June for a 6 day trip. We reached Hardwar on 15th June and decided to see Ganga Aarti at Har ki Paudi. We heard a lot about it from our friends. The whole experience was mesmerizing. Next day we started for Rishikesh early in the moring. We had planned to stay there till noon and then start for Srinagar (not the one in Kashmir) after having lunch. But, we finished darshan and sight seeing by 11am and started for Srinagar. It now our journey was quite uneventful. We had no idea what was coming. We reached srinagar by evening and decided to stay night there. Next day early morning we started early for Joshimath. We reached half way and suddenly we saw that there is long line of vehicles before us. We stopped and asked ppl around what is happening. We came to know that there has been a land slide due to rain and road is blocked. We waited there for 3-4 hrs with the hope that road will be cleared. But nothing happened. We all became very anxcious. We were not able to deciede what to do. But all this time we kept on enjoying. The place we got stuck was beautiful with mountains on one side and ganga or bhagirathi (as it is known in those areas) on one side. After nine hours of wait road was finally cleared and vehicles were able to pass through mud and rocks. We started our journey to Joshimath. We reached joshimath by evening and stayed there for night. Next day we visited Badrinath. For oe more day we stayed in Joshimath and enjoyed ropeway ride which is one of the highest in India. While coming back we got stuck in jam at the same place for 21 hours. After that our journey was smooth till Delhi. Trip To Arraku Arraku is a hill station in AP. It is still not explored much by ppl. Nice place to go for a quiet weekend and best season is November to Early Feburary. We went there in January 2008. We went their with a friend and his wife. We reached vishakhapatnam on friday early morning and took train to arakku. This one is the India's highest point broadway train. On way to Arakku we passed more than 60 tunnels. There are not many places to see in Arakku. We visited local museum, dombiwalli waterfalls, and bora caves. AP tourism resort is the best place to stay. Food was fine but you will not get many varieties. Local chicken tikka roasted on charcoal sold by an old lady in market was the best dish we ate there. Over all a nice place to go and enjoy peace. There have been other small and wonderful journeys also and many more are yet to come.
