At the core of my heart; I am a writer, dreamer, and traveller.....For livelihood I am also an insurance banker. My wife - Nilofar - is a homemaker, and also a research student in the field of toxicology. We are childhood friends, felt in love with each other in early twenties, and finally got married in Dec'06. I have to my credit one published fiction - titled 'Belong' - which had won considerable acclaim both by readers and media (see blog for details). Currently I am in talks with few international documentary crew to film a television and book project titled 'Memoirs of a Travelling Writer' - a 45000 miles long 4x4 road journey across 40 countries and five continents. Nilofar is presently doing research on the modus operandi of cancer causing compounds.

We are the best candidates because...

Travelling is our passion. Had the need of a modern living not imposed on us, we would have been nothing else but travellers. We had done overnight weekend driving escapades from Lucknow to Nainital (600 kms one way), just in whim and fancy. I myself have closked 550 kms overnight by bike from Delhi to Lucknow - when I missed the train for my date with Nilofar the very next day. Before and after our marriage we had done a lot of travelling - Delhi, Uttaranchal, Amritsar, Orissa, Udaipur, Mt. Abu, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore and Goa. Wherever we go, we make it a point to get a flavor of local pallette. We had always dreamt of a similar driving vacation, and perhaps this is going to be it.

Our Travel Plan

We plan to start from Ahmedabad, cross the Mahi river over National Expressway 1, and enter Baroda, and then the industrial town of Surat. From Suart we plan to head straight to Mumbai. A brief rest will get us ready for the serene western ghats - straight to Goa through the scenic winding road - they have a different romance in monsoons. Form Goa we plan to visit historic ruins of Hampi and thereafter head straight for Bangalore, the technocity in vivid contrast.

Our Travelogue

Well, there isnt a travelogue in particular that can be identified and showcased. As rightly said by some one that life is like a journey and vice versa. Some of the most remarkable travel had just happened at random - almost at sudden whim or fancy. I remember travelling all night from Delhi to Lucknow by bike (550 kms one way), when I missed my train for a date with my wife the very next day. This was way back in 2001. Weekend overnight escapades from lucknow to Nainital (650 kms one way) are also worth mention wherein the only motivation was to sit by the side of Naini lake at sunrise. Have also travelled from Ahmedabad to Mt. Abu on a rainy night with friends, and have waded in water and the water almost reaching the fueltank of our bike. Journeys to Udaipur, Goa, Delhi, Orissa, Hyderabad, Chennai, Khajuraho, Amritsar, Bangalore, Jaipur, Mumbai, Lonavala, etc were more planned.
