SUNIL GURBAXANI & VINITA GURBAXANI

Total Vote(s) : 87 | Total Testimonial(s) : 11

Hi, This is Sunil and vinita from Mumbai, born and brought up here. I am working in a Public sector company while my better half is a wonderful home-maker. We have a college going daughter doing her Arts. We as a family are very enthusiastic about travelling. Every year we look forward to a long deserved vacation of 20 to 25 days travelling 5000 plus Km, alternating between road travel in a year in our 1993 model maruti 800, and the next undertaking a circular rail trip. We have discovered, so to say almost the entire length and breadth of the country except the North-east and Kashmir, Rajasthan and MP. A couple of years down the line, we are planning a trip to Leh and Ladakh. Our next trip this October is expected to be the discovery into the unknown / unchartered territory in the North-East. Afterall life itself is a journey which needs to be explored to the hilt. The excitement of winning an all expense paid trip in a luxury sedan like Cedia is all too alluring to miss, more so in the monsoons. Hence our determined participation, in a trip that we have made umpteen times before & would love to do any number of times in the future!

We are the best candidates because...

Well as already said above, we have travelled almost the length and breadth of the country. We have never been abroad as a couple. I feel this country has a lot to offer in terms of geographical differences, such as beaches, deserts(still left to discover), wildlife, snowcapped mountains, forests. And driving is such a pleasure. And WE ARE THE BEST CANDIDATES BECAUSE WE AS A FAMILY HAVE BEEN TRAVELLING FOR 5000 + KMS EVERY OTHER YEAR IN OUR OLD & TRUSTED MARUTI 800. So a luxary sedan like Cedia with a powerful power plant, with an all expense paid trip to boot, would be a dream come true. Oh and most important I drive myself, having learnt driving at the age of 13 & got my car licence at 18. With an experience of almost 3 decades, riding two & four wheelers with equal zest makes us, i suppose a strong contenders.

Our Travelogue

Past travel experiences have been varied from snowcapped mountains of Rohtang Pass & Yamthung in Sikkim to beaches of Karwar, Rameshwaram, Ganpatiphule, Harihareshwar, Goa, Puri in Orissa and Marina in Chennai, from Jim Corbett Park to all major cities in the country. From savouring Tibetan momos at Dharamshala & Gangtok to Ayyappams in Kerala. The monuments of Ajanta Ellora, Hampi in Karnataka, Swami Vivekananda at Kanyakumari and Charminar in Hyderabad, besides the monuments of Delhi, Agra & Mathura are all awe inspiring. The quaint hillstations of Amboli & Panhala in Maharashtra, Yelagiri & Yercaud in Tamil Nadu & Madikeri in Karnataka, besides the major & common hillstations like Mussorie, Nainital, Kausani, Shimla, Kulu Manali, Dharamshala, Dalhousie, Khajjiar, Ooty, Kodaikanal, Munnar, Matheran, Mahabaleshwar-Panchgani, Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Mirik, Gangtok, etc of the country are a sight to behold. The colossal Beach statues at Murudeshwar in Karnataka to the temples of South & East India stand vivid in our collective memory. All these wonderful sightseeing is only possible if one is travelling by road, with near and dear ones. Our last travels started on 26th march 2009, leaving Mumbai at 5.00 pm, reaching Ratnagiri at 11.00 pm, where we retired for the day. Next Morning we left for Goa, for three days, then on to Hampi via Belgaum, procceding to Bangalore for three days. From there we went on to Sripuram(golden temple of the south), where we stayed for two days, on to Chennai, then to Yelagiri, Yercaud, Rameshwaram, kanyakumari, and back to Mumbai via kerala, mangalore, Goa on the 15th of April 2009.

My mama mami are crazy about travelling; earlier they used to travel long distances on their Motorcycle with their young daughter and my cousin, but it does not really matter which mode they use, be it cycle, even a tonga, Motorcycle or car, bus train or plane, except perhaps a rocket. Hats off to them. I hope they win this contest hats down. Good luck
