I'm software professional with expertise in intelligent systems. However everyone tells me that its a bit of oxymoron, somehow I manage to come across as a dumb person :(..... My partner is an engineer by education, albeit his main identity now is that of an entrepreneur who is doing reasonably well for a person who can never correctly spell the word "Entrepreneur". We both did our bachelors in Delhi, never knowing each other. Me being from girls college at DU also went to the socials held at his hostel in IIT, but somehow we never met. Or we don't remember it. Actually It is believed that we crossed our paths atleast three times before being introduced, but there is no documented proof. Our real discovery of each other took place on a month long road trip.

We are the best candidates because...

Not sure about being best but we fit the bill rather well.. My partner is passionate about driving and I am a girl who can read maps rather well. Vice-versa (me driving, he navigating) is also not so bad, as I drive slow thus we don't go too far on wrong routes. He writes well and I like pointing out his mistakes. I love to take photos and he always wants to be clicked :)). We both have a lot many interests, however the only passion we share is of traveling. We absolutely love the experience of exploring new areas on this beautiful planet. It just feels so alive.

Our Travel Plan

The plan is to go from Mumbai to Indore and stay for the night. Next we would reach Satpura National Park via Bhopal. Then via Amravati we would reach the centre of the nation Nagpur. The next stop would be the city of Golkunda, Hyderabad. Then through Hubballi route we would reach Goa. Then from Goa to Mumbai, with Mumbai-Pune highway being the last stretch of our travel schedule.

Our Travelogue

(1) We drove all across Rajasthan during a month long trip. Delhi > Jaipur > Ranthambore > Hindaun > Udaipur > Mount Abu > Ahemdabad > Jaisalmer > Jodhpur > Delhi. This was our first trip as married couple, truly we had the time of our life. We drove about 5000 KMs in 25 days. We slept in the car one day, middle of nowhere. Next day we stayed at Lake Palace in Udaipur. We planned as we drove and sang as the engine roared. (2) We recently traveled to our childhood dream destination - Greece. In Athens we took a car and drove around. Went to see the temple of Poseidon. It was a beautiful drive along the Mediterranean sea. We couldn't enjoy the drive that much coz Shishir was shit scared due to right hand drive. (3) Time and again we drive to Rishikesh to raft and relax. One time Shishir left his phone on midway restaurant and we had to take a 133 KM detour on a 225 KM drive. We loved it.

They are travel freaks. I still remember an in prompt to trip I took with them. We planned to go on till we ran out of road. But as it turned out, we had to return from Roorkee since we ran out of petrol and cash :). It was total fun. I also like Shishir's blog and photographs by Mansi. I think this competition is tailor made for them :)

I still remember the car ride we took in 2002. I and Rads had bunked from colleg. Shishir and Shu had come from Delhi to Laxmangarh for that ride. We went to a temple near Sikar on a hill top. The route was full of steep curves. That was quite an exhilarating trip. This guy really comes to his elements and is total fun when inside the car. I've advised him time and again to sell his house and buy a caravan and shift his house in it :)

Statuary Warning: Drinking and Driving should never be mixed. But strangely with them I feel a bit safer in car when they are bit drunk. Also these guys are definitely absolute fun on drives even when not drunk. The late night rides to Claridges pan waala after sumptuous dinner are etched in my memory.
