Sharath Kumar & Moutusi Kumar

Total Vote(s) : 40 | Total Testimonial(s) : 4

We are Moutusi & Sharath (And an important member of our family is Simba, our lab. I wish we have a chance to take him along with us on the driving challenge! I know it would be so much more fun!), together for a long time now, we have realized that it is no longer fun doing things without each other! We share a passion for adventure, travel, nature, cars, bikes, pets (Dogs in particular). I am a Pro-Sports person and involve myself in Rugby, Football, Cricket, Karting at the drop of a hat! I also have a special soft spot for Snooker & Pool. I am lucky that Moutusi shares my excitement and has been a staunch supporter of me being involved in all these activities. Let me let you in on a little secret that not many people are aware of… or were aware of until now J Sports played a BIG part in getting us together! While we were in college studying for our MBA we had a competition every semester called Blitzkrieg. The entire college was divided into 2 groups, the Gladiators (of which Mou & I were a part of) and the Bravehearts. Needless to say that Mou was (Ahem) impressed by yours truly being intensely involved in sports (AND the smile :) ). We have a special place for a couple of vehicles with old world charm! We were very happy that we had the same taste in cars & bikes and went out at the first opportunity looking for the car of our dreams! I already had a Royal Enfield, a 500 at that AND we went out and got ourselves a Gypsy! :) :) :)

We are the best candidates because...

We share a passion for traveling although haven’t really had a chance to go driving over a long distance; we have done a fair bit of driving to places around Bangalore & Pune including driving to Bangalore from Pune. We would be the best candidates because we: · Love Traveling · Have a Passion for Exploring · Have a fascination for Cars & Bikes · Thoroughly enjoy the beauty of Nature We both have captured Nature in all its glory on film and have absolute confidence that we will be able to share our experience with everyone by way of photographs, videos & blogs. We will be able to share our journey with you in an intense yet subtle, brief (where required) yet complete, elaborate yet engaging way. In terms of the journey as such, I am the Driver, Mechanic, Blogger, Bodyguard J J J and Mou is the Photographer, Navigator, Planner, Financial Advisor, and Radio (Hehehe hope she doesn’t kill me for this J). The Great Driving Challenge gives us an opportunity to do something that we’ve always wanted to do but have been unable to due to various constraints. How we wish we are among the final three! P.S: This would be an AWESOME :) birthday gift for me!!! All the signs point to us being among the final 3! I turn 30 on the 30th and being 1 among 3 going on a 3000 kilometer trip!!! All those 3’s GOT to be lucky for me! What say?????

Our Travel Plan

This is our travel plan. We want to cover as much of Maharashtra as possible along with Goa and Daman. We stayed in Pune for nearly 4 years but could not really visit many places except for Nagaon, Kashid, Mulshi, Malshej, etc. Now that we have shifted to Karnataka we are not sure that we would be able to explore Maharashtra as much as we wanted to and enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the Monsoons. We intend to do a bit of traveling in Goa especially the southern part. Here is the basic outline of the route - Mumbai > Alibaug > Murud > Shrivardhan > Dapoli > Guhagar >Goa > Kolhapur > Mahabaleshwar > Wai > Pune > Malshej Ghat > Bhandardhara > Aurangabad > Trimbak > Daman > Mumbai. Although this does not add up to 3000 kilometers, we have kept some space for spontaneous drives/deviations to places along the route!

Our Travelogue

We have travelled to a lot of places in India BUT that still is no where close to having been to all the interesting places here! That’s the beauty of our country… we could literally grow old and fade away but I do not think we would be able to say that we have seen every bit that is India! Places we (Individually and together) have been to in India – Agra, Ajmer, Alibaug (Nagaon & Kashid), Badri, Bikaner, Chennai, Cherapunji, Dalhousie, Darjeeling, Delhi, Dharmshala, Gangotri, Gangtok, Goa, Gomukh, Guwahati, Hardwar, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Kanyakumari, Kashid, Kausani, Kedar, Khajjiar, Kufri, Kodaikanal, Kolkatta, Kovalam, Malshej, Manali, Mangalore, Mumbai, Mysore, Nagoan, Nainital, Ooty, Puducherry, Pune, Puri, Rajgir, Ranikhet, Rishikesh, Shillong, Shimla, Udaipur, Varanasi and Vishakapatnam etc etc etc. I have also spent a considerable amount of time in the UK, just over 4 months while working with my previous company. I got to travel a lot in the UK primarily meeting my clients spread all over. I spent literally 3/4 days a week in and around London while being based at Brighton. Like they say, it’s not about where you get to… it’s about how you get there! I spent so much time on the trains there that they felt like a second home J. I got to experience the places, culture, food, weather to an amazing extent! Overall a very beautiful country with crazy weather! :) I arrived in the UK the F1 weekend but could make it there L BUT I still did get to go to the GoodWood Festival of Speed! :) AMAZING!!! Is stating it modestly! :)
