Shrutha, She is definitely ELECTRIC, full of life and enthusiasm. Her knowledge/energy and willingness to give kindness to people is really inspiring. Hailing from a family well known for its forays into deep and life-changing social work she an enterprising woman with a deep commitment to the less fortunate people in the region. She makes it a point to take time off from her business to engage in social work. One of her biggest strengths is her capability to connect with people - which is why i guess I choose her to be my partner. She is a LIBRAN, elegant and definitely likes to be in control of things. About me, I am a LEO of a wild type. I have been work with an infrastructure development company consultant since the last 2 years. Prior to this, I worked with a prominent dealer for Mitsubishi in Mangalore. I enjoyed my time thoroughly during that course of time which involved lot of travelling on road and working on aggressive targets. I would have approximately covered min of 3 lacs kms in LANCER. I am pretty easy going person and try to live life to the fullest with simple ethics and practices. One thing that I always like to see is a smile on my friends’ faces with my sense of humour which everyone digs about me. Last but not the least is my "DONT GIVE UP" attitude, which is something I always exercise! It has definitely worked well for me in the thick and thin of things.

We are the best candidates because...

Driving is our PASSION! Discovering places is our HOBBY! Making new friends is our NATURE! Learning culture is our INTEREST! Upliftment of the less fortunate is our CONCERN! We didn’t want to make this sound very poetic, but couldn’t describe our excitement for this adventure any better. An opportunity to broaden our minds! We have done many long distance drives together though mostly limited to the southern part of India. On our drives, our discoveries were not just places of geographical and historical interest but also of the soul of the country. The throb of life in a simple wayside chai shop, the enterprise found in a small town market place, the diversity in food, culture, dressing, dialects as we travel from one district to the other – all of it provides continuous excitement and an opportunity broaden ones perspective. Travel, we feel, makes us better human beings – in a land known for its diversity in almost every facet of life, this one aspect is all important in broadening of minds and expansion of hearts. It transforms us into responsible and proud citizens of the country. An opportunity to love the less fortunate At a personal level, this great journey is an opportunity to get to know the poorer and the less fortunate brethren in rural areas. It is a wonderful way to increasing our sensitivity to the problems and issues of the poor in a different part of the country. Having been associated with a family that believes in the upliftment of the downtrodden, we will be able to bring unique perspectives into similar contexts in a different region. We would also look forward to carrying back some of our learnings to make a difference to people around us. An opportunity to carry the message of unity Through the Great Driving Challenge, we strongly believe that we could become the brand ambassadors of India to its own citizens – in celebrating our diversity and thereby fostering unity in these troubled and difficult times of increasing intolerance and bigotry.

Our Travel Plan

Our travel plan essentially will include travelling through villages in between important towns. The towns are just used as night halts. The focus is really on the journey rather than the destinations. It’s about the people that we will meet on the way. We essentially intend to cover 4 states namely Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. The highlight is to visit the 2 most important places in India connected with Mahatma Gandhi namely Porbandar (his birthplace) and Ahmedabad (the place that he operated largely out of.) We also intend to visit Dandi to pay tribute to the famous Dandi march. Day 1: Mumbai – Surat (286 Kms) (Visit Dandi on the way) Day 2: Surat – Ahmedabad (272 Kms). (Visit Sabarmati Ashram) Day 3: Ahmedabad – Rajkot (231 Kms) Day 4: Rajkot – Porbandar (182 Kms) (Visit Mahatma Gandhi’s birthplace) Day 5: Porbandar – Ahmedabad (394 Kms) Day 6: Ahmedabad – Udaipur (233 Kms) Day 7: Udaipur – Jaipur (400 Kms) Day 8: Jaipur – Kota (257 Kms) Day 9: Kota – Indore (349 Kms) Day 10: Indore – Dhule (259 Kms) Day 11: Dhule – Nasik (157 Kms) Day 12: Nasik – Mumbai (172 Kms)

Our Travelogue

Shrutha has as been an inveterate traveller and has covered many thousands of miles across the globe with countries like China, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Italy, France and the UK. She definitely enjoys travelling considering that she loves driving. She has covered a lot of places across India as well in states like Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar and West Bengal. She has done many road trips mainly in South India with her favorite stretches being along the coastal belt between Kerala and Goa or the Western Ghat section to Bangalore from Mangalore. She is a good driver and can surprise a few with that. Travelling is her passion along with making new friends across any city or state. About me: My foreign jaunts have been primarily to USA - driving around cities like Las Vegas, New York, Boston, New Jersey, Dallas, Chicago and Denver. The other place I really enjoyed myself was in Bangkok. My all time favorite would however, be Mother India and its beautiful nature covering places like various scenic locations along the western sea board and the western Ghats. Goa, I guess, is every Mangalorean’s favorite driving destination since the stretch is really scenic with the beaches, forests and hills. I have been lucky to have good company and music along with mother nature, which has always made my journey memorable along with meeting new people and making friends. I have been fortunate to cover approximately 3lac kms on road in a LANCER.
