Well ... it'd have been great if we could surmise what we are and what we wanna be in this tiny li'l box .. but the truth is it can't get any more complicated than it already is. Sonam, born n brought up in the beautiful valleys of Ladakh, with her all too sweet and dolled up looks is one of the most witty and devious li'l creature I've known .. all at the same time !! … she’s like one of those silent Kung Fu masters , always dwelling in meditation until it’s time to strike ..... from designer dresses to torn ol' jeans .. from mascara to dirty hands .. from being a techie in an MNC to a nature lover .. she's had her bag fuller than she'd care to admit. As for me, i'm the laziest bum that you'd ever come across ... gimme a task and i'll give u a reason why it shouldn't be completed .. gimme a reason to get up and go to work and i'll give you two to not go to yours ... I've just about every trick in the book not to do my daily chores .. But then there's always a silver lining somewhere ... ahem ... yes there is ... and that's our constant hunger to explore ( Nature i.e. ;) ) ... from the beautiful valleys of himachal to beaches of Andaman .. there's nothing that doesn't hold us in awe of nature's beauty and it's hold on our puny li'l minds ... it's just a part of a larger collection of wisdom that's just too damn hard to comprehend ... mmmmmmmmmm .... Hi there! We're Deepa and Dhruba. Originally from Assam, Delhi's our adopted home. I'm in the publishing industry and he's with a B2B company. Our journey began 11 years ago as co-workers. A year later we decided to walk the rest of the way as partners-- sharing the drives through narrow bye-lanes and wide highways, negotiating the sharp curves, speed breakers, potholes and what-have-you---sometimes zooming along at 80kmph and sometimes at a sedate 20. Coming from a defence background, travelling runs in the blood. A love for the road and a spirit of adventure transform an otherwise humdrum existence into an exciting journey. Flying is not half as exciting. Car travel allows you to stop at will whenever the mood takes you. Yes, it does slow you down, but if you don't have the time to 'stop and stare' at the beauty around you, you may as well stay at home! Signs like ‘BETTER BE LATE THAN THE LATE’, ‘MEN AT WORK’, ‘BLIND TURN AHEAD’, ‘JAAT RISKY AFTER WHISKY’ have become a part of our lives. Not for us the crowded places teeming with hordes of tourists. We prefer to visit places in the off-season. While 'he' does most of the driving, 'she' plays the role of navigator-cum-map reader-cum-speed breaker-cum-blogger. Luckily, Delhi's location allows us to take off ever so often for a breather. Our motto, since last year especially, seems to have become: Have long weekend? Will travel! Just take the car and ...vrrooomm! Is it any wonder that our blog is called travelhungrysouls.com? It's got to such a point that friends who see us around for more than a month or so often ask us: "Where to next?" Die-hard mountain fans that we are, last year alone we covered Parwanoo, Rishikesh-Devprayag, Kufri-Shimla-Mashobra, Dehradun-Mussoorie-Dhanaulti, Kullu-Manali-Rohtang Pass, Lansdowne, Corbett-Ranikhet! All of this in our little Spark LT! This year, so far we've done Kaziranga and Goa (not by car, though). The most recent trip was to Manali (yes, again) and Manikaran with a friend and our god daughter. Even if we don't make it here come August, you're sure to find us somewhere on the road. Raring to go yet again!

You must have heard this classic love story about the guy who meets the girl, thinks she is Aphrodite and falls head over heels in love. The girl initially rejects the guy but then falls for his wackiness. Well, here is a perfect example of such a couple. Most of the times they agree to disagree about their likes. For example, the guy loves music and late night movies but the girl loves her sleep and wouldn't trade it even for "Citizen Kane". Why did they marry? Well, they both had a misplaced notion that living with a person completely opposite to you will be an adventure of a lifetime. Anyways, their love story is another long-long story and we will get back to that later. What is important is that they are bound together by a voracious appetite for travel. They have traveled to some of the most amazing places in the country and are still yearning for more. For the record, the guy's name is Paritosh and he is a software professional and a budding writer (at least he pretends to think so). The girl's name is Neha and she is a Marketing professional currently busy with the market dynamics of running the household (in other words she is a domestic engineer or housewife, whatever you would).

First, we are quite a way to making the toddler in RED (quite a hat salesman already- selling me two smart ones) ... one sweet thing i found in a hat vendor's shop on our trip to Mahabaleshwar. Well..... now that we established that she, as you can see is quite an expressionist in the literal and figurative sense.... god only knows how i did land up with this package of insanity well over 3 yrs back now, guess thats what they call job hazard.... a footlose designer got married into work (retail industry)... ahem.... as a Visual merchandiser and found out there is more to be life than being married to work.... (ask any folk in the retail industry today) to find a nitwitt like Aarti, also from design (though almost a certain generation ahead from my kind) and is in the womens category as a Senior Category Manager (yet another one who is married to her work)........ started an amazing journey together....... i did always think its really sassy to be driven around by a good driver like Aarti, but instead she chose to drive me up walls many a times only to realise the bounty beyond mwah mwah.... bas bas sumanth this introduction is not about me... oh.. sumanth is the walking talking dictionary per say… takes off at a drop of a hat… he & bageera (love of his life “The Vectra “) inseparable… now don't forget the SILVER SPRINT (now an all deadly matt black)........ the cozy rainy, bumpy rides on two wheels.......

Hi. We are Partha Mukherjee and Pamela Pais. Partha has been working in the Film industry since 10 years now and hence has travelled the length and breadth of the country. I’ve been in the advertising industry since 4 years now and take on and off breaks so that I can travel around. We both are extremely passionate of outdoor activities and are impulsive travelers. We could take of at the shortest notice when need be. Partha and I met at a shoot and discovered similar travel patterns which bonded us well. We would talk about the places we have visited and what must one look out for and what must one completely avoid. We always wanted to take of together ever since. But since we are both are freelancers our work projects are so unpredictable and our timings were an absolute clash. This time we both have the time as nothing really is lined up on the work front. Also we are extremely serious about this entire challenge and therefore have decided that we aren’t planning to take up anything soon. This time we would be sharing our experiences with our friends rather than telling it to each other.

Manali Leh Highway, 15th June 2007, after having driven for about 12hrs we stopped our Scorpio, mesmerised by a surreal world orchrested by the wind, the temperature a few degrees below zero.......... Barlachala at 16000 feet one of the Loftiest, trickiest and most scenic mountain passes in the world. This trip was our longest drive yet…Delhi to Leh and return covering almost 2000km...a dream come true, For us it was about reaching another level of a journey that began humbly on a Kinetic Honda from Bangalore to Hogenakkal in Tamil Nadu 17years ago.... Whether it is about driving through some of the highest mountain passes or filming wild tigers within breathable distance or trekking to a glacier… to us it is the very essence of life and great lessons in living... Eco-travellers and eco- warriors, my husband Mansij and I are from Gurgaon. He is a Techie while I facilitate personal effectiveness programs. He photographs, I write. He is more grounded while I love to dwell in the world of Narnia. We have our own consulting company modelled on our ideology and spirit of adventure.
