If Maharashtra had two rainy seasons, then God would have shifted his country from Kerala.
The plan for the second day was to drive from Kolhapur to Belgaum, but not by the NH, but a rather circuitous but picturesque route via Amboli ghats.
Driving through the roads in Maharashtra during monsoons and immediately after monsoons is nothing but pure bliss. Green carpet all over. Hills and valleys till the horizon. Farms and green forests aplenty. Streams, sometimes roaring rivers and numerous waterfalls.
We drove from Kolhapur to Amboli via Rashivade, Gargoti and Ajra. From Amboli, we drove to Belgaum via Chandgad.
As we drove, we pulled over many times, talking to people, clicking photographs and wetting our feet.

Great write up,
I like the little tinge of humor added.
